Okay, isn't this political correctness getting out of hand?

Senator John McCain used the term "tar baby" to refer to a sticky situation, which is what the term was originally meant to define in the old Uncle Remus stories, but he felt compelled to apologize for the use of the term because many years ago the term was used as a derogatory term. McCain has never been known to be a bigot, and he used the term correctly, to apply to the subject at hand. Why should he feel compelled to apologize? This is rediculous.
